James 1:22 - But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
Galatians 1:10 - For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

I grew up in a Christian home with five children. I have two older brothers that are twins and a younger brother and a younger sister that are twins. So one could say I’m pretty much as in the middle as you can get. My grandfather was the pastor of my church growing up, and my dad was the youth pastor. I was raised in the ministry. When I was five one of my older brothers received Christ as his Savior and got baptized. I then told my mom I wanted to get saved too, but it was all for the wrong reasons. My motives were to please those around me. I heard the Word of God, but was not a true follower of the Word. I then began to live a lie. When I was seventeen years old, I finally let go of my pride and put my own personal trust in my Savior. It was no longer about pleasing those around me but pleasing the One that died for me. Since becoming a true servant of Christ, I have clung to Galatians 1:10 and James 1:22 to remind me that I am a follower and servant of God!
My love for teaching and impacting the younger generation began in high school. As a high school student in a small Christian school I had the opportunity to assist elementary teachers during my study halls. In 2011, God led me to Maranatha Baptist University. I knew that I wanted to be an elementary school teacher so choosing my major was the easy part. After changing my minor four times by my junior year, I finally chose early childhood education. Though I did not know it then, God directed my steps to early childhood education for a specific purpose. Directly after student teaching, God provided me with a teaching job at a large Christian school in Chicago, Illinois. I taught 1st and 3rd grades there. In the summer of 2017 God led me to Erie, PA. I began teaching four year olds in a daycare. I honestly never thought God would lead me to a daycare, but God was preparing me. In March of 2018, I Married Charles Kauffman. After much prayer, God directed Charles and I to Harvest. I would have never dreamed that God would allow me to be a daycare director three years after college, but here I am. I love to look back and see how God has lead Charles and I to where we are today.
